On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, the District Administration on Wednesday launched a major demolition drive against illegal constructions in the main town area of Kulgam.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Chief Executive Officer Municipal Council Kulgam and Tehsildar Kulgam, in close coordination with Naib Tehsildar, SHO Kulgam, and other concerned officials.
Several unauthorized structures that had come up in violation of building norms were demolished during the drive. The step has been taken to enforce urban planning regulations and prevent haphazard construction within municipal limits.
Officials stated that such unauthorized developments not only violate land use policies but also pose a threat to planned town development and public safety. The administration has issued a stern warning to those who undertake construction activities without legal sanction or encroach on government or community land.
The CEO Municipal Council urged residents and builders to follow due procedures and obtain necessary approvals before starting any construction work.
The District Administration reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring strict enforcement of laws to safeguard the town’s infrastructure and maintain civic order.
