Massive Anti-Cannabis Drive Launched in Drugmulla on DC Kupwara’s Directions

Kupwara, July 1 2025:

Acting on the directions of worthy Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, a massive joint anti-cannabis drive was launched today in Drugmulla to combat the illegal growth of wild cannabis. The operation was spearheaded by Tehsildar Dragmulla, Mr. Syed Basharat Rasool, in close coordination with the Excise Department, Police, Agriculture and Horticulture Departments, along with active involvement of local residents.

The drive aimed at identifying and destroying illicit cannabis vegetation as part of the district administration’s broader anti-drug campaign. Wild cannabis growth spread over approximately 10–12 kanals of land at multiple locations was successfully destroyed during the operation.

Speaking on the occasion, Tehsildar Dragmulla appealed to the general public to extend their full cooperation in eradicating drug-related cultivation. He urged citizens to promptly inform the authorities upon noticing any wild or cultivated cannabis in their areas, assuring that all such inputs would be addressed swiftly and with due confidentiality.

The district administration reaffirmed its commitment to intensify and sustain such operations across the region, with the objective of building a drug-free and healthier society.
