President of India, Droupadi Murmu along with I & B Minister is presenting awards at the 68th National Film Awards 2022 being held in New Delhi, the winners of which were announced in July.
The legendary actress Asha Parekh received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for 2020 for her exemplary contributions to Indian cinema. As the veteran actress accepted the award, she thanked everyone for the honour and expressed gratitude for earning this recognition just a day before her 80th birthday.

Ajay Devgn was seen clapping while Suriya recorded the moment when his wife Jyothika approached the stage to accept the best feature film award for her Tamil film Soorarai Pottru, which has been produced by her and directed by Sudha Kongara.
The Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment was won by Director Om Raut for Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. As the producer of the film, Ajay Devgn also received the award.
Late filmmaker Sachidanandan KR was conferred the Best Direction award for AK Ayyappanum Koshiyum (Malyalam), which was received by his wife.
Lead actress of multiple National Award winning Tamil film, Soorarai Pottru- Aparrna Balamurali received the Best Actress award in the 68th National Film Awards.
Biju Menon received the Best Supporting award for his work in AK Ayyappanum Koshiyum (Malyalam), and Lakshmi Priya Chandramouli accepted the Best Supporting Actress Award for Tamil film Sivaranjaniyum Innum Sila Pengallum.
The Best Lyrics National Film Award was given to Hindi film Saina's lyricist Manoj Muntashir.
