After Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit, the Adi Kailash region is quickly making a name for itself on the international tourist map, with the government committed to improving facilities for tourists, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said.

PM Modi toured Adi Kailash on October 12, 2023, during which he paid obeisance at Parvatikund, greeted villagers cordially, and spoke with Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) troops deployed in the region.

Chief Minister Dhami posted a video demonstrating PM Modi's spiritual pilgrimage at Adi Kailash, along with tributes of tourists who appreciated the enhanced infrastructure. One of the tourists stated, "The work done here is good; we are enjoying every moment of our stay," while another added, "The roads are so good now, and more and more people want to come here to explore this place."

One other visitor added the positive change after PM Modi's pilgrimage by saying, "Post Modi ji's visit, many new facilities have been introduced." A fan of the shrine for a long time said, "We had wished to visit Adi Kailash for a long time, and thanks to the improved amenities, our dream has finally come true."

Once done with rituals in Parvati Kund, PM Modi went to Gunji village in the district of Pithoragarh, where the frontline ITBP personnel were wished well by PM Modi and elderly people blessed him. Gunji is a remote location at a height of 11,000 feet and stands strategically close to the Indo-Tibet border.

Adi Kailash, usually worshipped as a "reflection" of its counterpart Mount Kailash in Tibet, lies within the sacred waters of Parvati Lake and Gauri Kund. It occupies deep religious importance among the believers of Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, and the Bon Po faith. The location is most closely related to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, adding to its spiritual appeal.

The region's mythological and Puranic significance is highlighted in the existence of the sanctified Shiva temple and the holy Parvati Sarovar, which is said to be connected with Goddess Parvati herself. The mythological Gauri Kund Pond is also a pilgrim magnet.

Beyond its spiritual significance, Adi Kailash is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, challenging trekking trails, and peaceful spiritual atmosphere, providing a special experience to nature enthusiasts and seekers alike.
