After weeks of scorching heat, Delhi receives heavy rainfall

After the downpour, the temperature also plummeted to around 27 degrees Celsius. the rainwater has submerged several roads in the UT triggering traffic chaos in several areas

After experiencing weeks of scorching heat, Delhi has finally received some respite after the national capital received heavy rainfall and has signaled the arrival of the monsoon.


 The shower began early in the morning on Thursday. Areas that received the rainfall include Shahdara, Patparganj, ITO crossing, India Gate, Barapullah, Ring Road, Delhi-Noida border, and Delhi-Gurgaon roads. 


After the downpour, the temperature also plummeted to around 27 degrees Celsius. the rainwater has submerged several roads in the UT triggering traffic chaos in several areas.


Air traffic was also affected by the heavy rainfall as several flights en route to Delhi were diverted to Amritsar and Jaipur, many flights were delayed as well due to the weather disturbance.


Several areas including Pragati Maidan, Delhi-Meerut Expressway near Vinod Nagar, and Pul Prahaladpur underpass witnessed waterlogging.
