Amarnath Yatra 2022: First batch of pilgrims left Pahalgam’s Nunwan base camp

On Wednesday, after two years gap, the first batch of Amarnath yatra was flagged off by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha from Yatri Niwas base camp, Bhagwati Nagar Jammu

The first batch of pilgrims heading for Amarnath Yatra left the Pahalgam’s Nunwan base camp and embarked on a journey to holy pilgrimage into the mountains where the ice-formed shiv ling is housed in the cave.


 The batch consisting of 2,750 pilgrims was flagged off from Pahalgam’s base camp by Deputy Commissioner Piyush Singla.


“We have made all the arrangements to make the pilgrimage smooth. The authorities have left no stone unturned to ensure the security of the pilgrims who are eying to visit the holy shrine,” Singla said.


On Wednesday, after two years gap, the first batch of Amarnath yatra was flagged off by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha from Yatri Niwas base camp, Bhagwati Nagar Jammu.


The Amarnath Yatra resumed after a two years gap. In the last two years, the pilgrimage was halted due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Yatra will last for 43 days and will conclude on August 11.
