*New Delhi, May 15, 2025:*
Union Home Minister Amit Shah dropped by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi on Thursday to inquire about the well-being of five security personnel who were wounded during a recent anti-Naxal operation.
These courageous soldiers were on a 21-day-long mission called *Operation Black Forest*, undertaken in the Karegutta Hills along the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border. Amit Shah, during his visit, greeted the injured soldiers and met the doctors attending to them to get informed about their rehabilitation process.
The injured are three commandos from the CRPF's CoBRA unit, one CRPF jawan, and one jawan from the Chhattisgarh Police's District Reserve Guard. They are all receiving treatment and said to be safe.
The anti-Naxal operation began on April 21 and concluded on May 11. It was the most successful operation in recent history, with 31 Naxalites eliminated, including 16 women. Security forces also seized a large quantity of weapons, explosives, and other significant materials employed by the Naxals.
During a conversation with the media, the Home Minister appreciated the courage and efforts of the security forces. According to him, the region which was controlled by Naxals earlier is now controlled by the Indian government. He also stated that the government is making efforts to eradicate Naxalism from the nation entirely by March 31, 2026.
The operation was carried out in very challenging conditions, with sweltering heat and difficult terrain. Nevertheless, the forces were strong and determined in their mission. Their valour and work are being valued throughout the country.
This visit by Amit Shah shows the government’s support for the soldiers who risk their lives for the safety of the country. It also sends a strong message that the fight against Naxalism will continue with full force until peace is fully restored.
