Megastar Amitabh Bachchan announced his comeback on social media on Sunday morning and shared a lengthy post on 'Operation Sindoor'. It was his first post after a gap of several weeks, in which he praised the Indian Army's operation in response to the Pahalgaon terror attack.
Bachchan, who is 82, expressed deep sorrow over the death of 26 innocent people in the Pahalgaon attack. He praised the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government's 'Operation Sindoor', which targeted nine terror launch pads in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, including Bahawalpur, a major base of the Jaish-e-Mohammed terror group.
Bachchan said in his post, “The Pahalgaon attack, where 26 innocent tourists were killed, all of whom were on holiday with their families, should never be forgotten. Even a couple who had been married three days ago and were on their honeymoon, were not listened to.”
He added, “The government, which had requested neighbouring countries to stop terrorist camps and activities, was never listened to. So the decision of Modi and the government was to give an armed response to the neighbouring terrorist camps. The result is known to all, 9 terrorist camps have been destroyed.”
Amitabh Bachchan ended his post with lines from his father, poet Harivansh Roy Bachchan’s popular poem “Agneepath” to inspire and appeal to the army and all Indians. He wrote, “tu na thamega kabhi, tu na mudega kabhi, tu na jhukega kabhi, kar shapath, kar shapath, kar shapath, agneepath, agneepath, agneepath.”
In this post, he paid tribute to the army and urged them to continue their struggle, especially against injustices against innocent people.
Meanwhile, India and Pakistan agreed on Saturday to end military operations, but pressure quickly mounted. Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Mishri urged Pakistan to rectify its violations of the agreement.
