Amritsar Hooch Tragedy Claims 14 lives

In a painful episode,  14 people died and 6 hospitalised after allegedly consuming spurious liquor in Amritsar's Majitha .

SSP Amritsar Rural Maninder Singh says," Four local suppliers arrested yesterday revealed the name of a liquor supplier named Prabhjeet. This man told us about a kingpin, Sahib Singh, who supplies methanol. He obtained 50 litre of methanol, which was diluted to make 120 litre. This was sold to the four local suppliers. We have invoked stringent sections of the law against the six arrested persons. FIR registered under 105 BNS."

On 14 deaths allegedly due to spurious liquor, DIG (Border Range) Satinder Singh says, "This is an unfortunate incident. Six people, including the kingpin and locals, have been arrested."

AAP spokesperson Neel Garg (@GargNeel) on Amritsar hooch tragedy, says, "An FIR has been registered, and the kingpin has been arrested. The supplier Prabhjit Singh has also been arrested. Investigations are on. None of the guilty will be spared. They will get strict punishment as per the law. This Bhagwant Mann government will ensure strict punished for all those guilty."
