The Indian Army unfurled the national flag at Uri sector in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district on the 76th Republic Day.
Today India is celebrating its 76th Republic Day and people all over are in a festive mood, soaking in the patriotism. Cultural songs are playing everywhere and people are dressed in saffron, white and green, the colours of the flag, to show unity and pride of the country.
The atmosphere is electric as the whole nation comes together to celebrate its democratic values and the Constitution.
Kartavya Path comes alive with 76th Republic Day celebrations.
The 76th Republic Day celebrations have begun at Kartavya Path in the national capital with a grand display of the country’s cultural diversity, unity, equality, development and military might.
President Droupadi Murmu will lead the celebrations while Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is the chief guest.
The Indian Army will participate in the Republic Day parade with its first contingent leading the Mounted Column which will be 61 Cavalry led by Lt. Ahaan Kumar.
Raised in 1953, 61 Cavalry is the only serving active horsed cavalry regiment in the world, with the amalgamation of all the ‘State Horsed Cavalry Units’. It will be followed by nine mechanised columns and nine marching contingents.
Brigade of the Guards, Jat Regiment, Garhwal Rifles, Mahar Regiment, Jammu & Kashmir Rifles and Corps of Signals among others will march down the Kartavya Path.
Around 10,000 special guests have been invited to witness the parade as part of the government’s initiative to increase ‘Jan Bhagidari’ in events of national importance. These special guests from various walks of life are the ‘Swarnim Bharat’ builders. They are the best in their fields and have made the best use of the government schemes.
For the first time ever a tri-services tableau will showcase the concept of jointness and integration between the services with the theme ‘Shashakt aur Surakshit Bharat’. The tableau will have a Joint Operations Room where all the services will be networked and communicated.
