Hyderabad, 08 July 2025,
After some threatening mails were sent to various big organisations such as Raj Bhavan and the City Civil Courts, Hyderabad saw an outbreak of anxiety on Tuesday.
The messages, allegedly from a person identifying themselves as "Abdia Abdulla," stated that bombs had been planted and would go off "soon after the courts started." Delivered early in the morning, the emails arrived at official locations, such as Raj Bhavan, the Gymkhana Club, the Civil Courts, and the Chief Judge's office, at around four in the morning. Regretfully, court officials didn't learn until about noon, at which point they took prompt action and informed the local police.
The threats were identified and all the affected places evacuated fast. The buildings were methodically searched by the bomb disposal teams and sniffer dogs as the staff, judges, attorneys, and even guests were evacuated. Officers inspected the courtrooms, hallways, judges' quarters, and the area around Raj Bhavan. "The email was brought to our attention around 10.30 am," a senior police official told Bar & Bench. Bomb squads have been deployed to do checks and we have vacated the area.
Nevertheless, up to this point, there are not any suspicious items found. The Telangana Today also posted that panic had gathered in four strategic places before safety became established after large scale searches.
The Hans India told how hearings were deferred till the all clear was given, and how the judicial work in the Civil Courts had been put off. While security teams searched every area, the grounds of Raj Bhavan and the judges' offices were also cordoned off. Researchers are examining the source of the menacing email. As a way of tracking down the sender, the cybercrime team, and the bomb squad team are tracing the IP address, browsing through metadata, and scanning the email header. The government has pointed out that any further threats will be highly considered and dealt with within the precincts of the law.
Even though no explosives were found, this event fits an alarming trend that heightened nationwide over the last 12 months of bomb hoaxes at public institutions, including courts, airports, schools, and roadways. The city has presently strengthened security in very important judicial and government buildings. Authorities have assured the general populace and the people attending the court that their safety measures are going to be enhanced.
Investigation is ongoing: law enforcement assures the population of Hyderabad that the culprit will be prosecuted, and soon restart of the proceedings can occur with ease.
