British Prime Minister Boris Johnson today arrived at Ahmedabad airport. On his two-day visit to India, he will likely strike a new economic deal with India worth over £1 billion.
On his maiden visit to Gujarat, the UK PM was received by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and state Governor Acharya Devvrat.
Mayor of Ahmedabad, state CS, Gujarat police DG Ashish Bhatia, district collector, and Ahmedabad city police commissioner were present at the airport to greet the UK PM.
PM Johnson will spend a whole day in Gujarat where he will announce investments in science, health, and technology collaborations, and late evening after dinner he will leave Gujarat for Delhi.
On Friday, the UK PM is slated to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi and will have talks regarding economic, security, and defense ties.
Earlier also, PM Johnson was scheduled to visit India but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the visit was cancelled.
