Chandrababu Naidu: Only Hindus Should Be Employed at Tirumala Temple

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said on Friday that Hindus alone ought to be employed at the Tirumala Temple.

He added that if there are other religion personnel already employed there, they will be relocated to other designations without offending anyone.

He also announced his intentions to construct Venkateswara Swamy temples in all state capitals of India.

Naidu pointed out that a sacred thread is tied to protect Lord Venkateswara's properties globally and added that most devotees wish for these temples to be constructed in other nations as well.

As far as business activities around the Seven Hills region are concerned, Naidu noted that there was previously approval for the construction of the Mumtaz Hotel in the vicinity. But the government has now chosen to cancel that approval for the hotel, which was going to take up 35.32 acres of land. He maintained that commercialization should not be allowed in the Seven Hills region. Though the hotel management had decided to offer only vegetarian food, the government has clarified that no private enterprises will be permitted in that area.

Naidu spoke of his deep faith in Lord Venkateswara and said that he has survived a number of targeted attacks due to the "Lord's immense power".

Earlier, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) sought cancellation of the land allotted to Mumtaz Hotel in the Alipiri zone close to the Tirumala temple. The Trust board of the temple took this decision in a meeting held in November 2024
