Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), April 15, 2025:
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Tuesday distributed an instalment of ₹4,500 each to 1,926 women under the Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana for the months of April, May, and June.
During the 78th Himachal Day celebrations held in Killar, located in the Pangi Valley, a total sum of ₹86.67 lakh was allocated in three parts.
CM Sukhu affirmed that all remaining qualified women in Pangi Valley would receive the scheme’s benefits after completing the required documentation.
He announced that women turning 21 between January 1, 2025, and March 31, 2026, and those employed as domestic workers, will also be covered under the scheme, which offers ₹1,500 per month.
At the event, the Chief Minister also recognised and awarded public servants for exceptional service in the region.
Honourees included JBT teachers Devi Charan and Surinder Kumar, surgeon Dr. Vishal Sharma, Principal Bhagwan Das Chauhan, Tehsildar Shanta Kumar, Assistant Professor Dr. Promila Devi, and SHO Joginder Singh.
Top-performing police stations — Bilaspur Sadar, BSL Colony (Mandi), Damtal (Kangra), and the Women’s Police Station in Una — were also felicitated for excellence in law enforcement and investigation.
A vibrant cultural programme was staged, and CM Sukhu appreciated the parade units and cultural performers for their spirited efforts.
