Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta presented the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report on the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) in the Assembly session on March 24, 2025. The report is likely to bring the financial and operational performance of the DTC into focus with instances of mismanagement and inefficiency.

During her speech, Gupta also pointed to the BJP government's vow to increase transparency and accountability, affirming that the outcome of the CAG report would uncover how the erstwhile Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government conducted itself at the transport body. The report also comes at the right moment, given the desire by the BJP to attack the AAP government record and create its own reform agenda.

The BJP has taken advantage of this chance to attack the AAP on charges of fiscal mismanagement, asserting that the erstwhile government did not tackle key issues in the DTC, which has been facing operational inefficiencies and delivery problems. Gupta revealed plans to bring out a white paper on the AAP government's rule, subjecting its policies and decisions to further questioning.

The budget session of the Delhi Assembly will continue until March 28, 2025, with debate on several civic matters and financial planning for the next year. The presentation of the CAG report is an important step in taking previous governments to task while paving the way for future governance reforms.
