NEW DELHI:

Police and security agencies conducted quick and thorough search operations after receiving bomb threat emails at three Delhi schools on Monday morning, July 15.

The three schools were identified: the CRPF School in Dwarka Sector 16, the Navy School in Chanakyapuri, and another school in the Rohini region.

Officials say that after the schools received threatening emails, the alerts were triggered at about 8 a.m. Sniffer dogs, police teams, and bomb disposal squads were sent to all three sites right away to secure the area and look into the threats.

“Early on Monday, Dwarka North police station received a PCR call about a bomb threat at the CRPF School. The premises were promptly sanitised and checked by bomb squads,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Ankit Singh.

During the inspections, no explosive material or suspicious object was discovered, according to the Delhi Police. Security has been increased in and around the impacted schools as a precaution.

The authenticity and origin of the threat emails are also being looked into by cyber police teams. Whether the messages were coordinated or sent by the same person or group has not yet been verified by the authorities. The investigation is still ongoing, officials said.

While the search teams conducted their sweeps, school operations were temporarily suspended; no injuries or damage were reported.

The capital's schools have previously encountered such fictitious threats. Similar incidents have been reported by a number of educational institutions in Delhi and the National Capital Region in recent months, causing widespread concern and prompting emergency responses.

Delhi Police have urged the public and educational institutions to remain calm but vigilant. “While such threats have to be taken seriously, we appeal to the public not to panic. The safety of children remains our top priority,” said a senior officer familiar with the situation.

Police are trying to find the people behind the threats by tracking down the IP addresses and email trails while the investigation is ongoing. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether any arrests have been made or whether the messages are related to earlier threats that were received in the area.
