EARTHQUAKE IN LADAKH, NO CASUALTIES OR DAMAGE REPORTED

An earthquake of magnitude4.7 hit Ladakh on Tuesday morning. The temblors were felt in the region around 401 km north of Kargil. The earthquake passed at a depth of 150 km in the earthquake-prone Himalayan region. There were no reports of casualties or damage to property. The earthquake was felt in the Kargil quarter of Ladakh, as well as in the Leh quarter and some corridor of Jammu and Kashmir. The National Center for Seismology said that the earthquake passed at 738 am original time.
