The lawyer for the Hindu women claims that a shiva linga was discovered in the pond inside the mosque complex, which is sure to raise eyebrows.

"The pond was utilised for ablution (wuzu) purifying rituals," attorney Subhash Nandan Chaturvedi said, adding that the pond had been drained and a shiva linga had been discovered.

Following a petition from the petitioners, a Varanasi court has ordered the pond to be sealed immediately.

The Varanasi District Magistrate has been ordered to ensure that no one is allowed to access the area.

No details of the survey of the Gyanvapi mosque were revealed by any member of the commission, according to the Varanasi DM.

"The information concerning the survey is kept by the court.

Yesterday, one member was suspended from the commission for a few minutes before being reinstated "He claimed that one person had expressed an opinion that was their own viewpoint

The final day of filming began this morning amid increased security and limitations in the vicinity of the compound.

"Today, the survey commission completed its task.

It has meticulously filmed every location.

Three domes, underground basements, and a pond have all been captured on camera.

The advocate commissioner will provide his report to the court tomorrow, which the three commission members will prepare today.

We would approach the court for further time if the report is not completed on time "According to government counsel Mahendra Prasad Pandey, the entire procedure was calm.

The Gyanvapi mosque's Anjuman Intejamiya Masjid management committee has petitioned the Supreme Court to halt the survey.

On Tuesday, a two-member bench led by Justice DY Chandrachud will hear the case.

According to the petition, the Allahabad High Court had already stayed the 1991 litigation, but a new plea was filed in 2021 to get around it.

Both the 1991 and 2021 petitions are challenging the Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, 1991, which was also upheld by a five-judge Supreme Court panel during the Ayodhya ruling.

Around 65 percent of the survey was finished by Sunday.

The mosque is next to the famous Kashi Vishwanath temple, and a group of women has petitioned the local court for permission to worship daily before the idols on the mosque's exterior walls.

Five Hindu ladies have applied for year-round admission to the mosque's shrine.

Once a year, the place is available for prayers.

Permission to pray to other "visible and invisible deities within the old temple complex" is also sought by the women.

A portion of this survey was conducted on May 6, but it was discontinued after a disagreement arose over filming inside the mosque.

The court had not ordered videography inside the mosque, according to the mosque committee.

The petitioners' counsel, on the other hand, claimed that the court had approved the petition.

Following a hearing last week, the local court ordered that videography be allowed at all locations requested by the petitioners.

"We gained access to all of the areas requested by the petitioners.

We informed the commissioner, who then collaborated with the opposing side.

There were unambiguous orders that anyone who attempted to halt the process would face legal consequences, but nothing of the sort happened "Mr Shukla stated.

A lawyer for the Gyanvapi Mosque Trust, which challenged the filming order in the Supreme Court, claiming it violated the Places of Worship Act, 1991, claimed nothing untoward was discovered during the survey.
