Madhya Pradesh police have arrested N John Camm, also known as Dr. Narendra Vikramaditya Yadav, in relation to allegations of performing illegal surgical procedures. These surgeries are believed to have possibly led to the deaths of patients. Police authorities are now seriously engaged in probing Camm's claim that he has performed over 15,000 "complex cardiac surgeries" over a three-decade period.
The reason for this inquiry is to determine the veracity and validity of his claims on the sheer number and type of operations he supposedly conducted. Beyond review of the accusations to the practice size, detectives also are keeping in close check the alleged medical qualifications, and strongly questioning those over concerns whether the documents presented were valid or authentic. They're closely inspecting the qualification records and diplomas submitted by Camm for inspection to determine whether he was suitably trained and licensed and licensed to engage in the work in which they contend he actually involved himself. The investigation intends to reveal any inconsistencies or fabrications in his training and background that could have enabled him to practice medicine without valid permission.
Camm is to be produced before Damoh local court tonight for remand and further investigation. "He has admitted that the majority of his certificates are forged. We are confirming his degree from the state he is from," Damoh SP Shrut Kirti Somavanshi said.
Camm was arrested for allegedly conducting illegal operations after some patients allegedly collapsed during or after their procedures. If his MBBS degree is discovered to be fake, then all the operations he has performed so far, including his alleged 15,000 angioplasties or more, would be deemed illegal.
