The Ganga River has revealed its wrathful form, with the water level rising sharply in several parts of the country. In Uttarakhand, the water level in the Ganga River has risen to dangerous levels, forcing the authorities to evacuate people from low-lying areas. The rising water has also damaged several bridges and roads.

In Bihar, the Ganga River has also been flowing above the danger mark, inundating several villages and towns. The state government has deployed the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to help with the rescue and relief operations. In West Bengal, the Ganga River has also been rising steadily, and the state government has warned people living in low-lying areas to be on alert.

The rising water levels in the Ganga River are due to the heavy rains that have been lashing the northern and eastern parts of the country in recent days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast more rains in the coming days, which could further increase the water level in the Ganga River.

The rising water levels in the Ganga River are a cause for concern, as it could lead to flooding in several parts of the country. The authorities are closely monitoring the situation and have taken steps to evacuate people from low-lying areas.

WHAT CAN WE DO TO STAY SAFE FROM FLOOD DURING MONSOON SEASON?

1) Stay informed about the weather forecast and the latest developments in the flood situation. You can find this information on the IMD website or on the website of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).

2)If you live in a low-lying area, be prepared to evacuate at short notice. You can pack a bag with essential items, such as food, water, clothing, and medicine. You should also have a planning for where you would go if you need to go out from that place.

3) If you are told to evacuate, do so immediately and go to a safe place. You are advised not to wait until the last minute.

4)Do not drive through flooded areas. If you must drive, be sure to use caution and drive slowly.

5) If you are stranded in a flooded area, call for help. You can call the NDRF on 1070 or the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) on the number provided by your state government.

6) If you have pets, make sure to evacuate them with you.

7) If you have to stay in your home, make sure to seal all the openings, such as doors and windows, to prevent water from entering.

8) Turn off the electricity and gas at the main switches.

9)Move valuables to a higher level.

10) If you have a boat, use it to evacuate yourself and others.

The Ganga River is a sacred river for Hindus, and its wrathful form is a reminder of the power of nature. The authorities are doing their best to manage the situation, but it is important for people to stay safe and be aware of the risks.
