Hisar/ New Delhi , May 17,2025:On May 16,2025 Haryana Police arrested a 33 years old travel blogger Jyoti Rani for allegedly spying for Pakistani intelligence agencies against India.
Miss Rani , who has a YouTube channel named Travel with Jo with over 3,77,000 Subscribers , was taken into custody for sharing sensitive information with Pakistan high commission .
Police officials says that Rani was in constant touch with Pakistan High commission official and travelled to Pakistan twice after getting visa in 2023.
During her visits to Pakistan, she came into contact with staff from the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, including one Ehsan-ur-Rahim, also known as "Danish", believed to be an ISI agent operating under diplomatic cover.
On May 13 , Danish was declared persona non grata by the Indian Government after he was accused of spying and was asked to leave India immediately.
Rani on the other hand ,has been charged under Sections 3 and 5 of the Official Secrets Act, 1923, and Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which pertain to endangering national security.She has also been remanded to police custody for five days by a local court in Delhi as investigations continue.
