The much awaited Heritage Walk at Santiniketan has officially started this Sunday, offering visitors a guided tour of the historic Visva-Bharati ashram complex. The walk will be conducted in five batches every Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a maximum of 35 participants per batch.

The route covers some of Santiniketan’s most iconic spots, including the Upasana Griha (Glass Temple), Ghanta Ghar, Chhatimtala, Santiniketan Bari, and Amra Kunja. Visitors also get to explore the open-air classrooms of Patha Bhavana and other historically significant sites. While mobile photography is allowed, videography is prohibited.

Tickets are available only at the Rabindra Bhavana counter from 9 a.m. onwards. The ticket price is ₹300 for Indian visitors, ₹1,000 for foreign tourists, with special concessions for students. According to visitors, this heritage walk is not just a sightseeing tour but a unique opportunity to connect with the life, philosophy, and architectural legacy of Rabindranath Tagore.

University authorities said that if the initiative proves successful, the walk will later include Kala Bhavana, Sangeet Bhavana, Sriniketan, and Rabindra Bhavana, and the number of batches and operational days may also increase.
