India and Mongolia Begin Joint Military Exercise 'Nomadic Elephant 2025' in Ulaanbaatar

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, June 1 2025 :The 17th edition of the Indo-Mongolian joint military exercise, Nomadic Elephant 2025, commenced today with an opening ceremony held at the Special Forces Training Centre in Ulaanbaatar. The two-week-long exercise will run from May 31 to June 13, 2025.


This bilateral military engagement aims to enhance coordination and operational synergy between the Indian Army and the Mongolian Armed Forces. The focus of the drill is on joint training for counterinsurgency and counterterrorism operations, with particular emphasis on sharing best practices, tactical strategies, and operational techniques.


The joint exercise marked the growing defense cooperation between India and Mongolia and is expected to significantly strengthen interoperability between the two armies. Beyond combat readiness, the exercise also fosters mutual trust, professional exchange, and camaraderie among troops from both nations.


Officials from both sides expressed optimism that Nomadic Elephant 2025 will deepen strategic ties and pave the way for continued collaboration in regional and global peacekeeping efforts.
