India foils drone attack, Pakistan reacts in shock

On Saturday morning, several armed Pakistani drones attempted to enter Indian airspace, but were immediately shot down by Indian air defences. The drones were spotted in the Khasa Cantonment area of Amritsar, Punjab, at around 5 am. The army said they were targeted and shot down with great skill.

The Indian Army's Additional Director General (ADG PI) X (formerly Twitter) said, "The way Pakistan is violating the ceasefire and firing drones on the western border is completely unacceptable. Through such actions, they are violating India's sovereignty and endangering the lives of ordinary people. We will thwart such plans by the enemy."

The army said that this successful drone countermeasure is part of 'Operation Sindoor'.  The operation began early Wednesday morning with the main objective of destroying terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. According to the army, nine terrorist camps have already been destroyed in the operation.

On Saturday morning, an unidentified object, possibly part of a drone or a shell attached to it, was found lying in an agricultural field in Mughlani Kot village of Amritsar district. The surrounding soil was charred, indicating an explosion. A similar find was made in Rajasthan's Barmer district, where locals said they heard a loud noise in the early hours of the morning and later found some debris on the ground.

The Pakistani attack on Baldev Nagar near Uttarlai airbase and Jalipa military station in Barmer has clearly had an impact, although Indian security forces have been able to successfully repel the attack.

On the other hand, in retaliation, India has carried out counter-attacks on four Pakistani airbases in the early hours of Saturday, sources said.  This step was taken when Pakistan attempted to attack Indian territory at 26 places.

Firing is still going on in various areas of the border, which indicates that the conflict has not stopped. However, the army has made it clear that they will not sit still until the situation is completely under control.

Although the general public is worried after this incident, the message from the army and the government is clear - all preparations have been made to ensure the security of the country, and any kind of aggression from Pakistan will be given a strong response.
