India leading most cost-effective, successful space programme in world: PM Narendra Modi:-

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about India’s rise as a global space power in his monthly radio address, 'Mann Ki Baat,' on Sunday. He praised India’s space programme, calling it the most cost-effective and successful in the world. Modi also mentioned that the country is ready to achieve even greater things in the future, noting the rapid growth of space start-ups, with over 325 such companies operating today compared to just one a decade ago.



Modi paid tribute to Dr. K Kasturirangan, former ISRO chief, who passed away on April 25. He remembered Kasturirangan's contributions to India's space programme, which brought global recognition to the country. Modi highlighted the importance of innovation in Dr. Kasturirangan’s work, saying his ideas in space science and education would continue to inspire generations.


The prime minister also mentioned that April marked 50 years since the launch of India’s first satellite, Aryabhata. He reflected on the country’s journey in space, starting with the passion and dedication of early scientists who had limited resources but a deep commitment to serving the nation. He recalled images of scientists carrying important equipment on bullock carts and bicycles, showing their determination.India’s space program has achieved remarkable milestones, such as launching 104 satellites simultaneously, reaching the South Pole of the Moon, and sending the Mars Orbiter Mission to Mars. Modi expressed pride in India’s progress, mentioning how ISRO has become a global leader, with many countries seeking its help for space missions.




The prime minister also spoke about the private sector's growing role in space, with many young people reaching new milestones in space start-ups. He mentioned that India is preparing for several important space missions, including Gaganyaan, SpaDeX, Chandrayaan-4, and the Venus Orbiter Mission.


Modi also discussed the Champaran Satyagraha of 1917, recalling how Mahatma Gandhi’s nonviolent protest against British rule inspired the freedom movement. He reminded listeners of the importance of remembering the sacrifices of freedom fighters like Dr. Rajendra Prasad and Babu Veer Kunwar Singh.


Lastly, Modi spoke about the 'Sachet APP,' developed by the National Disaster Management Authority, which helps people stay informed about natural disasters like floods, cyclones, and earthquakes.



India's commitment to serving humanity and advancing in technology and space was the main theme of his address.
