India looks grand and bigger from space than it does on a map, Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, the first Indian aboard the International Space Station, said in a conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, 28 June,2025.
Shukla, 39, who is the mission pilot of the Axiom-4 mission, is the second Indian to travel in space after Rakesh Sharma back in 1984.
His journey to space marks a historical epoch for the country. It will take our progress in key fields like Space technology to new levels and make us World leader in research and technology.
On his part Praising Shukla for creating history, PM Modi said while the astronaut was far away from the motherland, he was still the closest to the hearts of Indians. "Aapke naam mein bhi shubh hai aur aapki yatra naye yug ka shubharambh bhi hai (Even your name carries the word shubh (auspicious), and your journey marks a new and hopeful beginning, a shubh aarambh, for the youth of our nation)," PM Modi said.
Undoubtedly, the whole India is immersing in joy of the achievement of Shubhanshu Shukla. In coming years ,we would be as country world leader in space technology.
