New Delhi, May 30 — External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar has stated that India stands out as a rare example of a civilisational state that is actively reclaiming its historical stature among the global community.

His remarks showed a growing national confidence as India enhances its presence and influence on the international stage.

Speaking at a recent public engagement, Dr. Jaishankar highlighted India’s distinctive identity, not only as a modern nation-state but also as a civilisation with millennia-old traditions, values, and knowledge systems.

“Few countries can claim to be civilisational states, and fewer still are in the process of reasserting that heritage in global affairs,” he noted.

He stressed that India’s resurgence is rooted in both its cultural continuity and its contemporary achievements in sectors such as technology, economy, and diplomacy.

According to the minister, this synthesis of tradition and modernity is helping India secure a more prominent role in the evolving world order.

Dr. Jaishankar also pointed out that India’s diplomatic outreach, strategic initiatives, and international partnerships are all reflective of a broader effort to ensure that its voice is heard and respected in matters of global governance.

His statement comes at a time when India is increasingly being seen as a key player in global affairs, participating actively in multilateral forums and forging closer ties with countries across regions.

Mr.Jaishankar’s remarks reaffirm the government’s vision of positioning India not just as an emerging power, but as a nation reclaiming its deep-rooted civilisational ethos while charting a path of future progress.
