India Reports Strong Growth in Smartphone Exports in 2025

India’s smartphone exports have shown remarkable growth in the second quarter of 2025, with a total shipment of 37.9 million units, marking a 7.3 percent increase compared to the same period last year. In the first half of the year, exports have nearly reached 70 million units, signaling strong momentum in the country’s technology sector and digital economy.

Several factors have contributed to this impressive rise. Indian smartphone manufacturers continue to introduce new models featuring advanced technology such as improved cameras, powerful processors, long-lasting batteries, and artificial intelligence capabilities, which attract global buyers. Additionally, price diversification has made smartphones accessible to a broader range of consumers across different economic segments. The growth of offline sales channels has also expanded the market domestically and supported export growth.

Despite some analysts warning of a potential slowdown in consumer demand for the remainder of the year, the overall outlook remains positive. Leading brands like Vivo have maintained their top position for six consecutive quarters through continuous innovation and customer-focused products. Samsung holds the second position with a 21 percent increase in exports, driven by the success of their new AI-powered A M and F series models. Oppo and Apple have also increased their export volumes, contributing to India’s growing presence in the global smartphone market.

This export growth reflects India’s expanding digital economy and technological advancements. Government initiatives such as Digital India and Make in India, along with supportive policies, have strengthened the smartphone industry and enhanced India’s standing on the international stage. With continued innovation, quality manufacturing, and improved infrastructure, India is emerging as a major hub for smartphone production and export, promising significant economic growth and employment opportunities in the future.
