Imphal, Manipur, June 1 2025:

In a remarkable display of courage and swift action, personnel of the Indian Army and Assam Rifles have rescued more than 800 people affected by the devastating floods in Manipur’s Imphal East and West districts.

Amid rising waters and challenging conditions, the troops carried out extensive evacuation operations, including a critical mission to relocate staff and equipment from All India Radio (AIR) Imphal. The forces worked tirelessly through the submerged areas, reaching stranded residents and moving them to safer locations.

Emergency supplies including food, clean drinking water, and essential medicines were promptly distributed to those in need. To improve accessibility, temporary footbridges were constructed, allowing for the rapid and safe movement of civilians from flood-affected and isolated regions.

The local administration and residents have lauded the timely and effective efforts of the armed forces, whose dedication has been instrumental in mitigating the impact of the disaster.

Relief and rescue operations continue as authorities monitor the situation closely and provide ongoing support to those displaced by the flooding.
