Sports are key for our physical health. There are different prestigious events of sports played throughout the world, but nothing beats the mega carnival of large number of Sports called Olympics played after every 5 years.
Today is 23 June ,the International Olympics day. Our country India has greatly improved in sports and we too have brought laurels in different Olympic sports like shooting, hockey .
We at grassroots need to strengthen the sports base so that our country in coming Olympics becomes the top medal bagging country , as being large and populated country we definitely need to increase our medal tally.
We need to bear in mind that first Olympic Day was celebrated on 23 June 1948. On this occasion, Sigfrid Edström, IOC President at that time, conveyed a message to the young people of the world. Portugal, Greece, Austria, Canada, Switzerland, Great Britain, Uruguay, Venezuela and Belgium organised an Olympic Day in their respective countries.
The Need of the hour is that Parents, students, teachers take sports very seriously.
The world Olympics day 2025 calls on all stakeholders to motivate kids to diverse sports.
