External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar expressed gratitude to his South Korean counterpart for the unwavering support that South Korea had provided after the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir.Jaishankar emphasized the need for the international community to come together to fight terrorism in all its manifestations.

South Korea had denounced the attack, provided sympathies to the victims' families, and reaffirmed its clear position that terrorism in any form is unacceptable. The diplomatic statement reflects the intensifying global consensus on zero tolerance for terrorism and the need for joined-up efforts to combat new threats, such as terrorism in the shape of abusing technology and financing.

Jaishankar's confirmation of South Korean solidarity indicates the general strategy pursued by India towards developing bilateral and multilateral collaborations in counter-terror efforts in recent times in interactions with countries like Egypt, as well as involvement in forums like the ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting-Plus.

The Pahalgam terror strike, which killed 26 civilians, has added muscle to India's determination to isolate terror groups and their cross-border support, and diplomatic action will be crucial to rally international support to India's security efforts and anti-terror initiatives.
