10 June, 2025:
If Pakistan attempts to provoke India through terrorist attacks, India will not hesitate to pursue the terrorists across the border, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said, sending a strong warning to the Pakistan during his visit to the Europe. The remarks came on Tuesday as part of a wide-ranging conversation during his visit to Paris.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has issued a strong warning, declaring that India will pursue terrorists who attack the country, "wherever they are, including in Pakistan." He reiterated that the core issue between India and Pakistan is terrorism, not a simple bilateral dispute. "It has become an India-Pakistan issue because Pakistan harbours and supports terrorists," Jaishankar stated. "The conflict is between India and terrorism."
Jaishankar's remarks echo the Modi government's firm position on cross-border terrorism. Speaking from Brussels, where he was engaged in high-level trade discussions with the European Union, Jaishankar further claimed that Pakistan is openly training "thousands" of terrorists and deploying them against its southern neighbour.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar is currently on a week-long diplomatic mission to France and Belgium, concluding on June 14, following his recent trip to Germany. These visits aim to strengthen ties and garner support for India's position on combating Pakistan-sponsored terrorism, building upon earlier efforts by a multi-party delegation.
He addressed members of the Indian community from Belgium and Luxembourg on Tuesday, highlighting Europe's growing interest in deepening ties with India amid a changing global landscape and an increasing push for self-reliance.
Jaishankar's outreach to the Indian diaspora came soon after he met with Belgium's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maxime Prevost. Both leaders discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation and tackling the shared challenge of terrorism.
His visit to Brussels comes on the heels of a high-profile 300-member Belgian economic delegation led by Princess Astrid to India three months ago. During that visit, Princess Astrid met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and EAM Jaishankar to explore cooperation in labour migration, pharmaceuticals, defence, diamonds, space, and green energy.
