NEW DELHI:

Union Minister for Minority Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Kiren Rijiju inaugurated a new training centre under the Pradhan Mantri Virasat Ka Samvardhan (PM VIKAS) scheme at Tilak Nagar, New Delhi on Wednesday. The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) founded the center with the goal of offering more than 31,000 applicants educational support and skill training.

Speaking to the audience, Shri Rijiju emphasised the government's dedication to providing minority youth with high quality training and career focused courses. “The vision of PM VIKAS is to not just preserve our cultural heritage but also to empower marginalised communities through modern skill development,” he said.

The Tilak Nagar training centre will offer industry-relevant training in various high-demand fields including Technical Artist (AR-VR), Social Media Influencer, and General Duty Assistant. All training will be provided free of cost to the enrolled candidates. In addition, the Ministry of Minority Affairs will offer a monthly stipend to trainees, making the programme accessible and supportive for economically disadvantaged individuals.

The DSGMC, a prominent Sikh body in the capital, has been onboarded as an implementing agency under the PM VIKAS scheme. 29,600 people will receive skill training as part of the ongoing project, and 2,000 candidates will receive educational support. It is anticipated that the partnership with DSGMC will promote more thorough community involvement and guarantee that the program's advantages are felt at the local level.

Office bearers emphasised their dedication to social welfare and skill development while speaking on behalf of the DSGMC. They pointed out that the center would help young people from various minority backgrounds become more self reliant and more employable.

The Ministry of Minority Affairs introduced the PM VIKAS scheme, a flagship program designed to provide modern vocational training while also connecting traditional craftsmen's and artisans' skills with current market demands. It is designed to promote economic empowerment among marginalised communities while preserving their cultural heritage.

The newly inaugurated facility is part of a broader strategy to bring together government initiatives and community institutions to build a robust ecosystem for inclusive development. The training facility supports India's goal of having a workforce prepared for the future by emphasising both modern digital skills and traditional craftsmanship.

Senior Ministry officials, community leaders, training faculty, and potential candidates attended the event. Soon after the inauguration, the Tilak Nagar center's training sessions are anticipated to start.

Through targeted skill-building initiatives designed for minority communities throughout India, the Ministry reaffirms its mission to improve employability and guarantee socioeconomic inclusion.
