A Bangladeshi national disguised as a saint was arrested by Sahaspur police. A case has been registered against him under the Foreigners Act.

As part of "Operation Kaalnemi", Sahaspur police have launched a crackdown on fake saints and fraudsters posing as spiritual leaders.

In a surprise move, SSP Dehradun personally questioned several individuals dressed as saints sitting by the roadside in various areas. Many of them had no knowledge of astrology or religious scriptures.

Following this, SSP Dehradun instructed immediate action against such individuals.

Across different police station areas, over 25 fake saints have been arrested — more than 20 of them are from other states.

SSP Dehradun has directed all station in-charges to identify and take strict action against such frauds who mislead people and play with their religious sentiments in the name of faith.

These imposters misuse religion in the Devbhoomi (Land of Gods) and exploit people's beliefs and emotions.

The arrested Bangladeshi citizen, who was disguised as a saint in the Sahaspur area, has been booked under the Foreigners Act. Teams from LIU (Local Intelligence Unit) and IB (Intelligence Bureau) are interrogating him.

This operation aims to cleanse the region of such imposters who commit fraud under the guise of spirituality.
