Malaysia Rejects Pakistan’s Plea to Cancel Operation Sindoor Programmes

Pakistan’s attempt to play the religious card was dismissed by the Malaysian government, which rejected Islamabad’s request to cancel all Operation Sindoor outreach programmes, citing the "Kashmir matter in the UN,”, according to sources.

Pakistan urged Malaysian officials to cancel all ‘Operation Sindoor’ outreach programmes by Indian delegations, citing Islamic solidarity. The demand, however, was rejected by Kuala Lumpur. "We are an Islamic country, you are an Islamic country... don't listen to the Indian delegation, cancel all their programmes in Malaysia," Pakistan embassy reportedly told the Malaysian government officials.

However, Malaysia has reportedly turned down Pakistan’s request to cancel all outreach programmes planned by the Operation Sindoor delegation led by Janata Dal (United) MP Sanjay Jha. Despite Islamabad's objections, Malaysian authorities granted approval for the nine-member Indian delegation to proceed with all 10 scheduled programmes.

An all-party delegation of Indian parliamentarians, led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, was welcomed by Indian High Commissioner to Malaysia, B.N. Reddy, at the Indian High Commission in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday. The delegation paid heartfelt homage to the Malaysian national who lost her life in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack.

The delegation to Indonesia, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea, Japan, and Singapore is led by JD-U MP Sanjay Kumar Jha and includes Aparajita Sarangi (BJP), Abhishek Banerjee (Trinamool Congress), Brij Lal (BJP), John Brittas (CPI-M), Pradan Baruah (BJP), Hemang Joshi (BJP), Salman Khurshid and Mohan Kumar. So far, they have visited Indonesia, South Korea, Japan, and Singapore.
