Hyderabad, May 18,2025: A massive fire broke out near Charminar in Hyderabad due to short circuit as claimed .
Total 17 people including 8 children and five women died after a massive fire broke out in a building near Hyderabad’s iconic historical monument Charminar on early morning .while the cause of the fire is not confirmed yet.
An official of the fire department says they got the a call around 6.30 am and went to the spot . 11 fire engines fought the blaze and those, who are injured were shifted to the hospital .
PM Narendra Modi posted on X ( twitter) and says “Deeply anguished by the loss of lives due to a fire tragedy in Hyderabad, Telangana. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones . May the injured recover soon.”
He further says around 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deseased.
While Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed deep sorrow over the incident and announced compensation for the families of the deceased. “This is a tragic day for Hyderabad. We will ensure strict action is taken against those responsible,” he said.
The city mourns the loss of innocent lives, with special prayers being held across communities for the victims. The incident has once again highlighted the urgent need for stricter enforcement of building and fire safety regulations in densely populated urban areas.
