Pak Troops Move to Frontlines, Confirms Govt Amid Rising Tensions

Indian officials have confirmed that Pakistani troops are moving to the forward posts along the border as tensions between Pakistan and India grow. The deployment follows a series of cross-border raids and military exchanges by the two nations following the April Pahalgam terror strike in Kashmir that left 26 people dead.

Pakistan has placed additional air defense and artillery troops, including Chinese-produced SH-15 howitzers, along the Indian border in frontline positions, particularly in districts such as Rajasthan's Barmer and Sialkot. Advanced electronic warfare and radar systems have also been stationed near the border to intercept and detect any Indian aerial attack.

The Pakistan Air Force is holding a series of military exercises with its principal fighter aircraft and early warning aircraft, and the Army Strike Corps are exercising in their zones of responsibility.

Pakistan's armed forces have been placed on maximum alert, and its Navy alerted as well. The government claims it has credible information that India is going to be launching further strikes within the next 24 to 36 hours, and hence additional troops and equipment have been rushed to the front lines. Airport Security Force troops have been deployed as well to defend air bases and ground assets.

From the Indian side, the Army has reported multiple ceasefire violations and Pakistani drone attacks along the international border and the Line of Control.

Indian troops have intercepted and destroyed scores of Pakistani drones over the past few days, and both nations are on high alert for further escalation.

This stationing of Pakistani troops and gear in the forward positions is seen as a reaction to recent Indian military deployment and current tensions, hence the border situation remains extremely tense and volatile.
