Pakistan Army Chief's Statement: An Attempt to Hide Reality?

image

Recently, when the two countries decided to call a ceasefire after four days of border tensions between India and Pakistan, Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir visited a military hospital in Rawalpindi to visit injured soldiers and civilians. There, he said, "No hostile plan can weaken Pakistan's resolve." However, Indian intelligence sources called this statement "a classic strategic misstep."

Sources said that Munir is making such statements to hide the reality of the success of the Indian Army's 'Operation Sindh' and the strikes on terrorist camps located in Pakistan. The camps of Jaish and Lashkar in Bahawalpur and Muridke have been destroyed. In response, Pakistan tried to attack Indian military installations several times, but India's strong defense system repelled them.

Although Munir's speech repeatedly highlights Pakistan's unity and resolve, intelligence officials say it is mainly an attempt to cover up the army's strategic failures, radar weaknesses and operational losses. According to experts, Munir's public appearance two days late proves that Pakistan is first reviewing its own losses and then trying to shape public opinion.

In addition, the Pakistan army has become internally weak amid the Baloch insurgency and economic disaster. Therefore, Munir is trying to boost the morale of the country's army and the common people with this statement. Such statements are also being used as part of portraying Pakistan as a 'victim' in the international arena.

Overall, Munir's statement is a political propaganda and an attempt to hide military reality, which is not very unexpected in the current geopolitical context.
