Islamabad, April 30, 2025 —
Pakistan has stated that it suspects India could launch a military attack in the next 24 to 36 hours. This is following a deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, in which 26 individuals, primarily tourists, perished.
India has accused the attack on Pakistan-backed groups, but Pakistan has denied the allegations. Due to the mounting tension, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has requested the United Nations to intervene and prevent the situation from escalating.
The United Nations has expressed concern over the increasing tension and requested both nations to remain calm and not take any action that might result in a war. The UN has also extended assistance to initiate peace negotiations between the two nations.
Both nations have acted aggressively. India has revoked visas for Pakistani visitors and ended water sharing under a treaty. Pakistan has shut down its airspace to Indian flights. Both armies are said to be more aggressive along the border in Kashmir.
The world is monitoring the situation closely and demanding peace between the two nuclear-capable nations.
