Washington, D.C./New Delhi:Former U.S. President Donald Trump has reacted to India’s bold military action under Operation Sindoor, saying that the world was expecting a strong response from India. “People knew something was going to happen,” he said while addressing reporters in Florida.
Trump’s statement comes just a day after India launched precision strikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) — a major military action in response to recent terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.
Describing the strikes as a “decisive move,” Trump said India has the right to defend itself. “India is a strong nation. It has every right to eliminate threats to its people,” he said, while also urging restraint to prevent a wider conflict.
He acknowledged the long-standing issue of cross-border terrorism and added that such incidents can no longer be ignored. “The world cannot turn a blind eye to terrorism,” Trump emphasized.
Trump, during his presidency, had built a close relationship with India and had publicly supported its stance on national security. His recent comments show continued support for India’s counter-terror actions.
Meanwhile, tensions remain high along the Line of Control, with both India and Pakistan on alert. The international community is closely watching the situation, with global leaders calling for calm but also recognizing India’s right to defend itself.
India has made it clear: there will be no tolerance for terror and no safe heaven for terrorists.
