Indore May 31,2025:

Marking a major milestone in the state’s urban transport development, Madhya Pradesh’s first metro service is being launched in Indore today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Phase 1 of the Indore Metro, officially bringing the city into India’s growing network of operational metro systems.

With this addition, Indore becomes the latest entrant in the country’s expanding urban transit map, taking the total number of Indian cities with operational metro services to 18.

The launch of the Indore Metro is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion and provide a fast, efficient, and eco-friendly mode of transportation to thousands of commuters daily.

Phase 1 covers key areas of the city and aims to enhance connectivity while reducing dependence on road-based vehicles.

Officials from the Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL) stated that all safety trials have been completed successfully, and modern coaches equipped with advanced features have been deployed.

The inauguration is being hailed as a transformative step for Indore, aligning with the city’s ongoing infrastructure growth and smart city initiatives.
