New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday emphasized that the inclusive nature of India's youth is playing a vital role in the country’s growth and development.

Speaking via video conference at a Rozgar Mela event, where he handed out more than 51,000 appointment letters for positions in various central government departments, PM Modi highlighted the importance of young people in bolstering the nation's economy, security, infrastructure, and labor welfare.

“This marks the beginning of a new chapter for over 51,000 young individuals now joining the central government workforce. It is your duty to fortify the country’s economic framework, strengthen internal security, contribute to modern infrastructure, and uplift laborers’ lives. Your sincerity at work will directly contribute to India’s mission of becoming a 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India),” he said.

He praised the diverse representation among Indian youth, describing inclusivity as a key strength in their progress.

“The most commendable aspect of Indian youth development is how inclusive it has become,” PM Modi said.

He also stressed that youth involvement in nation-building accelerates national progress and enhances India’s global reputation. The government, he noted, is actively promoting both job creation and entrepreneurial opportunities.

Referring to the recent UPSC exam results, the Prime Minister applauded the achievements of women, pointing out that two women secured the top two ranks, with three in the top five overall.

“Our daughters are excelling across all sectors — from public service to science and space. India’s 'Nari Shakti' (women power) is reaching unprecedented heights,” he said.

He also outlined government initiatives aimed at empowering women in rural areas through programs like Bank Sakhi, Krishi Sakhi, and Self-Help Groups (SHGs). He said that India now hosts over 90 lakh SHGs, comprising more than 10 crore women, supported by increased budgets and collateral-free loans up to Rs 20 lakh.

“To enhance their capabilities, we’ve raised the budget for SHGs five times and introduced substantial financial support without needing any guarantees,” the Prime Minister said.

Looking ahead, PM Modi announced that Mumbai will host the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES 2025), a global platform to promote young talent in the creative industries. He emphasized that youth will be the focal point of this summit, which is expected to generate fresh opportunities in entertainment and digital content creation.
