New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to Haryana on Monday to celebrate Ambedkar Jayanti and will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of a number of key development projects to improve the state's infrastructure and connectivity.
As per the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), PM Modi will start his visit in Hisar at approximately 10:15 a.m., where he will inaugurate the first commercial flight from Hisar to Ayodhya and lay the foundation stone of the new terminal building of Maharaja Agrasen Airport.
The terminal worth over Rs 410 crore will consist of a modern passenger terminal, cargo terminal, and an air traffic control building.
Sharing on X, PM Modi wrote, "Tomorrow, on Ambedkar Jayanti, the day will be spent on Haryana's development journey. Around 10:15 in the morning, I will launch commercial flights between Hisar-Ayodhya and the ground-breaking ceremony of the new terminal building of the airport. In the afternoon, there is a function pertaining to numerous projects in Yamuna Nagar too."
The launch of scheduled air services from Hisar -- twice a week to Ayodhya and three times a week to Jammu, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Chandigarh -- is a new landmark in Haryana's air connectivity.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will also speak at a public gathering in Hisar prior to traveling to Yamuna Nagar around 12:30 p.m. There, he will dedicate and lay the foundation stone of other development works and meet the public.
Emphasizing the Centre's focus on adding power infrastructure and guaranteeing last-mile electricity delivery, the PMO announcement stated that PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for an 800 MW thermal power unit at Yamuna Nagar's Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant.
The project worth Rs 8,470 crore will be located in 233 acres of area and is likely to greatly enhance Haryana's energy security and reliability of power supply.
Continuing the GOBARDhan initiative (Galvanising Organic Bio-Agro Resources Dhan), the Prime Minister will also be laying the foundation stone for a Compressed Biogas Plant at Mukarabpur, Yamuna Nagar.
With a production capacity of 2,600 metric tonnes per year, the plant will encourage organic waste management, clean energy production, and conservation of the environment.
Apart from this, the Prime Minister will also open the Rewari Bypass project, a 14.4 km road developed at Rs 1,070 crore in the Bharatmala Pariyojana initiative.
The infrastructure upgrade will ease congestion in Rewari City, reduce travel time from Delhi to Narnaul by about an hour, and promote economic and social activity in the area.
