On October 17 at 4 PM via video conference, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will begin the distribution of PMJAY-MA Yojana Ayushman cards in Gujarat.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the distribution of PMJAY-MA Yojana Ayushman cards in Gujarat today to offer coverage of up to Rs. 5 lakh per family per year, for primary, secondary, and tertiary care hospitalisation, without any restriction on family size and age.

According to a press release, PM Modi will participate in the session via video conference at 4 o'clock in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel present. He will also speak with three recipients.

At the state-level gathering will be Rushikesh Patel, Gujarat's minister of health and family welfare. The event will include virtual attendance from Union Minister of Health Mansukh Mandaviya.

"From September 2021 till date, more than 50 lakh cards have been issued under the chief minister's leadership. Newly printed Ayushman PVC cards will be given to these beneficiaries," the release said.

Gujarat combined the MA/MAV Yojana with the AB-PM-JAY plan in 2019 and gave it the name PMJAY-MA Yojana. As a result, participants of both the MA/MAV and AB-PMJAY programmes are now eligible for co-branded PMJAY-MA cards.

The Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), the largest health insurance scheme in the world, was introduced by the prime minister in 2018 based on the experience of the program's success. It provides coverage of up to Rs. 5 lakh per family per year for primary, secondary, and tertiary care hospitalisation with no age or family size restrictions.
