Over a lakh worth of diamond necklace, Rs 35,000 in cash, and 500 USD dollars were stolen from the residence of Bollywood actress Poonam Dhillon in Mumbai on Monday.
Sameer Ansari, 37 years of age, working with a team that was entrusted with the job of painting the flat at the actor's home since December 28 till January 5, has been accused of doing the theft. He made off with these items during this period by taking advantage of an unlocked cupboard.
Though Dhillon stays primarily in Juhu, she stays at her Khar residence often as it is where her son, Anmol, lives. The police investigations revealed that Ansari spent some of the money stolen to host a party.
The last time audiences saw her on the big screen was in Sonnalli Seygall and Sunny Singh starer Jai Mummy Di. She also appeared in numerous films like Pathar Ke Insan, Jai Shiv Shankar, Batwara and Ramaiya Vastavaiya.
Poonam Dhillon is a 62-year-old personality who rose to fame in her acting career with the super-hit film Noorie in 1979. She has starred in Samundar, Dard, Sohni Mahiwal, Teri Meherbaniyan, Karma, and Naam, among others. Some of her very popular work includes serials like Ekk Nayi Pehchaan, Dil Hi Toh Hai, and Kittie Party. She made her OTT debut in 2021 with Dil Bekaraar on Disney Plus Hotstar and also participated in the third season of Bigg Boss in 2009.
