The Punjab government has promised to release additional water to meet the needs of the army in Rajasthan. Upon the request of the Rajasthan government, the Punjab government will provide them with greater water in addition to their water quota to ensure greater water supply to the army deployed on Rajasthan's borders. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann made this announcement and said that Punjab never lags behind in any national interest matter. He also said, "Punjab is willing to provide not just water but also blood in the interest of the country."
The Rajasthan government asked Punjab for more water as the number of soldiers on the Rajasthan borders has increased and it is very important to provide sufficient water to them. Referring to the same, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has said that Punjab has always stood by the national interest since its inception. Whenever the country needed it, Punjab never hesitated in offering its resources, natural water and above all, lives of its people.
He further added, "Punjab understands that it is the responsibility of all of us to protect the sovereignty and security of the country. Whenever a matter of national interest arises, Punjab remains ever willing to serve the nation by overcoming all hurdles and threats."
Providing water to the troops who are deployed at the Rajasthan border is a key move, since the border areas do not normally have drinking water or any natural resources. Not only will the provision of water help the bodily needs of the troops, but it will boost their morale too, enabling them to make better contributions towards maintaining national security.
This move is not just a military aid, it is a reflection of Punjab's vision for the nation. Through this step of the Punjab government, their unselfish commitment to the nation and their commitment to duty have been proved again. National interests are given priority under Punjab's leadership, and therefore they take appropriate steps without any hesitation.
This assures that every state should be committed to its own interest as well as the greater interests of the country so that our country can always develop united and be secure.
