05 June, 2025:
The holy city of Ayodhya witnessed another momentous spiritual occasion on Thursday with the grand Pran Pratishtha (consecration) of the Ram Darbar at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple complex.
The sacred ceremony was conducted in accordance with age-old traditions and rituals, marking a new chapter in the city’s spiritual journey. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attended the event as the chief guest, underlining its religious and historical significance.
The rituals began at 11am and lasted around 45 to 50 minutes, featuring traditional Vedic chants and ceremonies. The event marked the final day of the three-day Pran Pratishtha celebrations that started on June 3.
On this sacred occasion, the Ram Temple was adorned in grand style, drawing thousands of devotees from across the country and abroad to Ayodhya. The Pran Pratishtha of the Ram Darbar on the temple’s first floor marked a key moment in the ceremony. Idols of Shri Ram, Mata Janaki, and Hanuman were ceremoniously installed, adding to the spiritual significance of the day. The event marks the most significant spiritual moment at the temple since the Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla on January 22, 2024, exactly 498 days earlier.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who is celebrating his 53rd birthday today, performed the aarti of Ram Lalla on the ground floor of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple. Following the rituals in the sanctum sanctorum, he proceeded to the first floor to take part in the Pran Pratishtha of the Ram Darbar, where he initiated the ceremonial proceedings.
"Today is an important day. On 22 January 2024, under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, ending the long wait of 500 years, the program of Pran Pratishtha of Lord Ram was completed in Ayodhya Dham.... India's pride was reestablished in Ayodhya Dham by PM Modi...The program of Pran Pratishtha of the grand Ram Darbar has been completed in Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Ayodhya Dham. On this occasion, I heartily congratulate the people of Ayodhya, the people of the state and all the followers of Sanatan Dharma living in the country and the world and bow to all the officials associated with Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Trust and express my gratitude to our Prime Minister...", said Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath.
Champat Rai, General Secretary of Ram Janmabhoomi Trust, said that the temple complex is now nearing its completion. "About 95 percent of the temples have been completed. Kalash have been made. The idols of the deities have been installed in the temples. Before Pran Pratishtha on June 3 and 4, the necessary rituals and worship were done. Today is the last day of the rituals of Pran Pratishtha," said Mr Rai.
The three-day event, which began on 3 June, culminated Thursday on the special tithi with the Pran Pratishtha at 11.25 am.
The ceremony involved the religious consecration of vigrahas across the Ram Mandir Complex: a Shivling in the Northeast (Ishan Kon), Shri Ganesha in the Southeast (Agni Kon), Balshali Hanuman Ji in the Southern arm, Surya Dev in the Southwest (Nairitya Kon), Devi Bhagwati in the Northwest (Vayavya Kon), Maa Annapurna in the Northern arm, Sheshavatar in the Southwestern corner, and the Shri Ram Darbar on the first floor of the main Mandir.
