Republic Day 2025: Parade, flag hoisting, and traffic updates

Tomorrow is India’s 76th Republic Day and Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory for a smooth movement of the parade on Kartavya Path. Republic Day celebrations will start with Prime Minister Narendra Modi paying tribute at National War Memorial at 9:30 am.

Parade from Kartavya Path to Red Fort will have ceremonial march past by contingents of Armed Forces, Para-Military Forces, Auxiliary Civil Forces, NCC and NSS. This year’s parade theme is “Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas” which means “Golden India: Heritage and Development”.

Parade will start at 10:30 am from Vijay Chowk and will move through the route: Vijay Chowk-Kartavyapath-C-Hexagon-R/A statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose-Tilak Marg-Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg-Netaji Subash Marg-Red Fort.

Traffic restrictions are as follows:
•         No vehicle movement is allowed on Kartavyapath from 5:30 pm today till parade is over tomorrow.
•         No cross traffic is allowed on Kartavyapath from 10 pm today at Rafi Marg, Janpath, Man Singh Road till end of parade.
•         C-Hexagon-India Gate will be closed for traffic from 9:15 am tomorrow till parade crosses Tilak Marg.
•         Traffic on Tilak Marg, BSZ Marg and Subash Marg will not be allowed in both directions from 10:30 am tomorrow.

Metro services will be available tomorrow but traffic police has advised to take alternative routes in case of emergency:

North-South Corridor: Ring Road-Ashram Chowk-Sara Kala Khan-I.P Flyover Rajghat-Ring Road.

East-West Corridor: Ring Road Bhairon Road-Mathura Road-Subramaniam Bharti Marg-Rajesh Pilot Marg-Prithvi Raj Road-Safdarjung Road-Kamal Ataturk Marg-Panchsheel Marg-Simon Boliver Marg-Upper Ridge Road/Vande Matram Marg.

India will be showcased with a 190 member band contingent from Indonesia and 160 member marching contingent of Indian Armed Forces. 31 tableaux of Indian states, union territories and central government ministries/departments will be part of the parade.

Parade will conclude with national anthem, release of themed banners and balloons and flypast by 47 aircraft.
