Republic Day is a big day for every Indian, the day in 1950 when the Constitution of India came into force. Every year we celebrate January 26 with great fanfare, with a big show at Kartavya Path.
The President of India unfurls the national flag and is the chief guest at the function.
Parade route
Republic Day parade will start from Vijay Chowk at 10:30 AM. It will move along Kartavya Path, with tableaux and performances, and end at Red Fort.
This year will see: 18 marching contingents, 15 military and cultural bands, 31 tableaux showcasing India’s culture, development, and heritage. Over 5,000 artists performing cultural programmes.
The opening will have 300 artists.
Parade times and themes
This year’s parade will have a 90 minute theme “Golden India: Development and Heritage”. The celebration will showcase the country’s achievements and cultural wealth.
Demonstration of military might
This year the Indian Army will showcase its self-reliance and modernisation by: Nag Missile System, T-90 Bhishma Tank, BrahMos Mobile Launcher, Chetak All-Terrain Vehicle, Bajrang Light Specialist Vehicle, Agni Multi-Barrel Rocket Launcher.
The parade will be a display of Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) in defence technology.
This year's parade is going to witness an approximate number of 77,000 people including 10,000 special invitees. Thousands of tickets have already been sold.
Security will be beefed up in Delhi, especially around Kartavya Path, for the participants and the audience.
Republic Day 2025 is going to be a big show of India's unity, progress, and heritage and will make you feel proud and patriotic.
