The Election Commission has started counting the votes for by-poll elections held in three Lok Sabha seats, and seven Assembly seats across five states including Delhi. The counting started at 8 am Sunday.
By-elections for Lok Sabha seats were held in Rampur and Azamgarh of Uttar Pradesh and Sangrur of Punjab. In Rampur, BJP’s Ghanshyam Singh Lodhi will compete with Samajwadi’s Asim Raja.
In Tripura, by-polls were contested for the seats of Jubarajnagar, Agartala, Surma, and Town Bardowali. Also, to remain, Chief Minister of Tripura, Rajya Sabha MP Saha is required to win from Town Bardowali.
In Delhi, bypolls were held in Rajinder Nagar. Whereas in Jharkhand and Andhra Pradesh by-polls were contested in Ranchi and Atmakuru respectively.
